Anne Marie Bakke (Prof. Dr.med.vet.) has been in her current role as Nutrition Technical Expert and Research Lead since June 2017 at Waltham Petcare Science Institute, the fundamental science centre for Mars Petcare. Her education is from the US and Germany (Med.vet. from Munich 1993), before returning home to Norway where she completed her PhD in Nutrition and followed the academic track at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences’ Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Oslo. Here she taught pet and farmed fish nutrition and clinical nutrition. She also gained extensive research experience in effects of alternative feed ingredients on nutritional status and digestive physiology and health in monogastric animals, primarily farmed salmon diets. She also held assignments at the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and the Environment (VKM), both as a Scientific Panel expert and as senior scientific advisor.
