Graduated the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest in 2004, PhD since October 2009, and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bucharest since 2020. Starting 2017 Dr. Vitalaru started teaching urology and nephrology both for students and postgraduates at Pisa University, Perugia University, Zagreb University and Lublin University. His 4 books about emergencies were sold in more than 2000 copies in Romania in the last 4 years. His last book it is completely dedicated to peritoneal dialysis in small animals and it has been released also in English in more than 22 countries, starting February 2018. In 2014 he opened the first Veterinary Hemodialysis Clinic in Romania and one of the few in Eastern Europe. In the last 10 years, Dr. Vitalaru has been a lecturer for Hills regarding urology, nephrology and renal replacement therapies. He is a board member of AMVAC, FECAVA Director for Romania and since March 2019. In 2019 he received the Didier-Noël Carlotti Award (DCA), at the AMVAC Congress, he receives the ”Ion Alin Bîrțoiu” Award for best medical practitioner in Romania, and the Romanian Society of Veterinary Nephrology Hemodialivet receives the Award for the best veterinary medical Society of the year 2019.
