Eleanor Raffan, United Kingdom

Dr Raffan is a veterinary surgeon who has worked in general practice and at the vet schools in Liverpool and Cambridge. An RCVS and ECVIM specialist in small animal medicine, she has a PhD in the genetics of rare forms of severe insulin resistance in humans. Since 2013 she has run the GOdogs Project, investigating the genetics of obesity in dogs. She is currently a Wellcome Trust research fellow at the University of Cambridge’s Institute of Metabolic Science and combines research with clinical work.
