Graduated from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in 1977 and have worked in a small animal hospital since graduation. In the 1980's and 1990's volunteered for the BCSPCA and was provincial President for four years after 10 years serving on their Committee of Management. In the 1990's also served on the CVMA Animal Welfare Committee, chairing it for the last four years. In the last 9 years I have been involved in the formation of the CVMA Society of B.C. veterinarians chapter, serving on their Board of Directors and currently serve as the president.
