Helen is Associate Professor of Primary Care Research and Digital Health lead at the Unit of Academic Primary Care, Warwick Medical School. Helen’s expertise is in use of digital routes of access to general practice, and alternatives to the face-to-face consultation, such as email and video. She is a member of the NHS England Primary Care Digital Transformation Advisory Board and advises professional bodies and NHS organisations in the evidence based use of digital consultations in general practice. Helen leads studies that focus on how digital technologies impact on patients and healthcare professionals in general practice settings. Helen is a health services researcher with a PhD in Primary care research, and a background in public health and anthropology. She is an experienced mixed methods researcher who has particular expertise in qualitative methodology and review methodology.

Claire Bamford is a senior research associate in the Population Health Sciences Institute, Newcastle University. She is a qualitative researcher who has contributed to the development and evaluation of a number of interventions for people living with dementia. These have included interventions to improve diagnostic disclosure; interaction in consultations with old age psychiatrists; recovery from falls; end of life care; the diagnosis and management of Lewy body dementia; and post diagnostic care for people living with dementia. She has a specific interest in exploring and understanding the factors which influence whether and how complex interventions are implemented in trials and routine practice.
