I am currently the head of Research for Primary Care Diabetes Europe (PCDE) and also the Chair of the PCDE study group of European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD). I am a faculty member of the Primary Care Academy of Diabetes Specialists in the UK and board member of the Primary Care Diabetes Society of UK. I am also currently a Clinical Lead and mentor for diabetes in Leicester city. I am a practicing Leicester City General Practitioner, a Partner, lead undergraduate tutor and GP trainer at the Hockley Farm Medical Practice My research aims: 1. Medication safety in diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the elderly population. 2. Understanding the association of biomarkers and cardiovascular disease and venous thromboembolism 3. Quality improvement in diabetes care in primary care settings. Research Interests In the past year, my research focus has been around the impact of COVID-19 on chronic disease care. I am also working in the area on therapeutic inertia in people with diabetes to understand the causes, outcomes and possible solutions. I am also doing implementation work around prescribing safety, de-prescribing and medication adherence in the elderly population with diabetes and cardio-metabolic conditions. Bohumil Seifert is working as a GP a part time in Prague. He has been teaching family medicine in the university since 2003. He completed his doctoral studies in Preventive Medicine in 2007. In 2009 he was appointed as an associated professor at Charles University and Head of the Department of GP. Bohumil Seifert’s main research interest has been in the epidemiology and management of gastrointestinal disorders in primary care and in the secondary prevention of colorectal cancer. He has published articles in impacted journals, contributed to books and presented at international meetings (UEGW, WONCA). He has been serving since 2002 as the Scientific Secretary of the Czech GP Society and has been the representative in the WONCA Councils since 2004. He has been working in different networks and work groups under WHO and WONCA Europe. He served as the secretary of the ESPCG and currently represents primary care in UEG Research Committee. He has chaired several international meetings in Prague, particularly the WONCA World Conference 2013 and the WONCA Europe conference in 2017. He was awarded by WONCA Fellowship in October 2018 during World WONCA Conference in Seoul for a service to WONCA and its Conference Planning Committee.

I studied Medicine in the Universitat de Barcelona, specialized in Family Medicine also in Barcelona, postgraduated in Mental Health in migrants, refugees and ethnic minorities by the Universitat de Barcelona and master in Assistence Quality. After finishing my residence I worked in the NGOD Fundacion Vicente Ferrer. Since 2001 I am working as a GP in CAPSBE Casanova in Barcelona. As my interest in International Health and cooperation is very high I am a member of the group of COCOOPSI from the CAMFIC (Catalan Association of Family Doctors). Presently I am coordinatin two groups in my region (Area Integral de Salut Barcelona Esquerra): infectious diseases and Tropical Medicine. This year I have started my PH resaercher work.

I am a Population Health Scientist interested in better understanding the benefits and harms of treatments, with a particular focus on cardiovascular disease prevention. My research aims to develop tools which improve the targeting of preventative therapies for older people at those with the most to gain. I lead the Stratified TreAtments Research (STAR) Group at the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford. We use data from routine electronic health records to better understand the association between treatment and harms. Our work involves prognostic modelling, systematic reviews and randomised controlled trials of cardiovascular treatment strategies (prescribing and deprescribing) in older patients.
