Family Medicine
Martine Granek-Catarivas is a Senior Lecturer at Tel Aviv University (Israel) and heading a department of Family Medicine at Clalit Health Services. Born in France, she started medical school in Paris and completed her studies at Tel Aviv University, including her training in Family Medicine. She soon started teaching medical students and residents. While leaving in China for five years, she joined the Hong Kong College of General Practitioners and Beijing Capital University of Medical Sciences, mainly focusing on Faculty Training in Family Medicine throughout China, on behalf of WONCA. Later, she contributed to the development of Balint Groups in China. Since her return to Israel, she is involved in undergraduate and post graduate programs in Family Medicine, CME/CPD for primary care physicians and also the training of tutors and trainers. She led the faculty development program of the Department of Family Medicine at Tel Aviv University for 10 years, the Israel Society of Teachers in Family Medicine for 8 years and since 2015 she represents Israel at EURACT Council. Dr. Granek-Catarivas keeps working half time as a Family Physician providing acute and chronic care for patients of all age groups, ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Her main areas of teaching and research are Faculty Development, Teachers training, Patient-Centered Medicine, Communication skills and Balint Groups.
