Dr. Roos van Westrhenen is a psychiatrist& clinical pharmacologist working at Parnassia Psychiatric Institute Amsterdam/ University Maastricht and a Senior Lecturer at King’s College London. She is a medical doctor for over 20 years, obtained her PhD in basic science in 2005, is a clinical pharmacologist since 2011 and a psychiatrist since 2013. She set up the first outpatient clinic pharmacogenetics in psychiatry in The Netherlands in 2017 where she formulates a personalized medication advise partly based on pharmacogenetics. She initiated the National Guideline on Clinical Implementation of Pharmacogenetics in Psychiatry that was authorized by the Dutch Psychiatric Association in 2020 and is a member of the Dutch Pharmacogenetics Working Group. She is the Scientific Coordinator/Principal Investigator of the PSY-PGx Horizon2020 funded project, which is currently undertaking a worldwide research program on pharmacogenetics in psychiatry in 16 centers across EU and US.
