„Race“ is a culturally constructed and social identity that divides humanity into groups based on notions of shared ancestry and superficial physical traits presumed to indicate biological attributes. It is deeply embedded in the languages used and the structures and institutions of the society. It affects many areas of life, including financial and career status, physical and mental health, and the quality of personal and working relationships. The impact of racism in psychiatric research and clinical practice is not sufficiently investigated. Findings clearly show that the concept of "race" is genetically incorrect. Therefore, the implicit racism that underlies many established "scientific" paradigms need be changed. Furthermore, to overcome racism, the impact of racism on health and on mental health must be an integral part of educational development, clinical work and research. Key of ethical, human rights and social equity principles should be reflected in clinical practice, education and research.
