The WPA Working Groups (including this one) are convened by the WPA President to carry out work related to the President’s 2020-2023 Action Plan. Since child and adolescent mental health is a key feature of the WPA 2020-2023 Action Plan, the activities of the WPA Working Group on Child and Adolescent Psychiatry are of particular importance. This Working Group is primarily focusing on global advocacy, capacity building and research in child and youth mental health. The Working Group started its work in December 2020 and will continue with its activities until the end of the triennium after which the Group’s existence may be continued should this be considered helpful to WPA’s overall program of activities. The Working Group is in contact with both non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and governmental organizations engaged in work relevant to the Working Group’s tasks. This WPA Group is chaired by Prof. Bennett Leventhal and Prof. Norbert Skokauskas, and this symposium (if accepted) will be chaired by them. However the online submission system does not allow to include a chair and a co-chair.
