Session Description
Session Description: In the course "peripheral neuropathies" we will discuss recent developments and new aspects in diagnosis and therapy of diabetic, inflammatory and hereditary neuropathies. Progress in understanding the pathogenesis paved the way for novel treatment approaches in these conditions. In addition, imaging techniques, and next generation sequencing as complementary diagnostic tools are increasingly in use to decipher the underlying cause in patients with peripheral neuropathies. These advanced techniques are likely to impact the diagnostic algorithms in peripheral nerve disorders. Learning Objectives:1. Better understanding of the pathogenesis of diabetic and inflammatory neuropathies.2. Increase knowledge in immunosuppressive approaches to increase therapeutic options in inflammatory neuropathies.3. Implement more efficient genetic testing in patients with suspected hereditary neuropathy.
