Biography:
Dr. Thomas Velten received his degree of physics from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1994. He received his doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Berlin, Microsensor & Actuator Technology Centre. As a research and development scientist at Endress & Hauser, Maulburg, he worked on miniaturized pressure sensors. In October 2001, he joined Fraunhofer-IBMT, St. Ingbert, where he is currently primarily responsible for innovation management and business development. One focus of his research activities is the development of miniaturized systems for biomedical applications.
