Dr Alison May Berner is an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Medical Oncology at Barts Cancer Institute and St Bartholomew's Hospital, and a Part-time Specialty Doctor in Adult Gender Identity at the Gender Identity Clinic London, Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust. She leads the UK Cancer and Transition Service where she provides advice and assessment for gender diverse patients with active cancer or genetic cancer predisposition. Her research centres on sex-differences in cancer with a particular focus on cancer genomics, and improving cancer care and screening for LGBTQ populations.
