Human Biology
Dr. Galloway is a Professor of Human Biology and Director of the Pathogen Associated Malignancies Program at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center. She is also an Affiliate Professor in the University of Washington Department of Microbiology. Her research has focused on the mechanisms of transformation of HPVs including both high risk alpha HPVs and beta HPVs, the natural history of HPV infection in young women and men, and the host immune response to infection and vaccination. Current research in her lab is focused on immune memory generated by various doses and timing of vaccine. Her research has been funded by a MERIT award from NIAID and an Outstanding Investigator Award from NCI. She is an elected Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Academy of the American Association of Cancer Research.
