A. Deshmukh

Ashish A. Deshmukh, PhD, MPH, is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Policy & Community Health (MPACH) at UTHealth School of Public Health (UTSPH). He is also Associate Director of The Center for Health Services Research (CHSR) and Co-Director of the Clinical Analytics and Decision Science (CADS) Lab at UTSPH, where he leads cancer epidemiology, decision science, and cancer simulation modeling program. Dr. Deshmukh’s research is centered in the development and use of data-driven simulation models to evaluate clinical and public health strategies aimed at prevention and/or treatment of human papillomavirus (HPV)-associated diseases. He also conducts population-based research studying HPV infection and associated cancer epidemiology, prevention, treatment, and survivorship among the general population and various high-risk groups. Dr. Deshmukh is currently PI of an R01 grant to determine optimal anal cancer screening for persons living with HIV, mPI of an R01 grant to study efficacy and efficiency of screening women with lower genital tract diseases for anal cancer, and project co-leader/co-PI of a U54 grant that evaluates anal cancer prevention among HIV-infected persons living in Puerto Rico. Dr. Deshmukh has published over 60 articles in this area.
