Andreia Albuquerque MD PhD, is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with a special interest on early anal cancer detection and anal cancer prevention. She has developed an Anal Neoplasia Clinic in Porto and also worked as a Researcher and Honorary Consultant at the Homerton Anal Neoplasia Service in London and as a Consultant in St. James's University Hospital, Leeds (UK). She has more than 70 papers published in peer-review journals, with 17 papers as first author on anal precancerous lesions, including an invited review on the Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology. She is currently a member of the research group RISE@CI-IPO (Health Research Network), Portuguese Oncology Institute of Porto. She has served as an International anal Neoplasia Society (IANS) Board of Directors member and as a Co-chair of the IANS Spanish-Portuguese Task Force. She is currently an Affiliate Board member of the International Papillomavirus Society (IPVS), a member of Early Career Working Group of IPVS and a member of IPVS Social Media Task Force.
