M. Del Pino

Hospital Clinic Barcelona Gynecology Oncology Unit
Marta del Pino is Consultant of the Gynaecological Oncology Unit of the Clinic Hospital of Barcelona. She graduated in 2004 at University of Barcelona and performed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Hospital Clinic (2004-2008). Dra del Pino received a Doctorate in Medicine in 2009 from the University of Barcelona (UB). Between 2010 ad 2012, she performed her post-doc project in HPV in the Molecular Pathology Department of the Vrij Universiteit Medisch Centrum of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She holds a Master’s degree in Statistics and Epidemiology from the Autonomic University of Barcelona (UAB) (2008-2013) and since 2013 is an assistant professor of the University of Barcelona, Spain, accredited by the AQU and ANECA. Dra del Pino’s interests focus on HPV-related cancers specially cancers from the low genital tract. She practises as a staff medical oncologist in a major university hospital in Barcelona and at the same time she leads the group of HPV translational research of Gynaecological Oncology Unit. She is Assistant Professor in the Medicine Faculty of the Barcelona University. Dra del Pino has been involved in HPV vaccination trials and in the study of biomarkers of detection and progression HPV-related lesions. In the same way she is involved in many international projects related to HPV research. Dra del Pino took part of the experts’ committee that developed the Spanish Cervical cancer screening guidelines 2014 that are being updated in 2021 and, currently, she also takes part of the autonomic committee that is developing and setting the cervical cancer screening program in Catalonia. She is member of the Spanish Society of Cervical Pathology and colposcopy (AEPCC) from 2014 and of the International Federation of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (IFCPC) from 2016. From the national and international societies, she has leaded the development of national guidelines about HPV-related diseases and HPV vaccination and she is participating in the development of the international quality control standards of the colposcopy.
