Senior Lecturer in Chronic Illness, Queen’s University Belfast Gillian focuses on cancer prevention and understanding and reducing the side effects and symptoms associated with cancer and cancer treatment, with a particular focus on cancers that affect men. Gillian has always had an awareness of inequalities in men’s health and became a member of the Men’s Health Forum in Ireland (MHFI) in 2012. From this she was given the opportunity to represent the forum on HPV Action, a collaborative partnership delivering an advocacy campaign that aimed to achieve gender-neutral HPV vaccination in the UK. Gillian is now a member of the HPV Action Network which aims to eliminate HPV-related cancers and other diseases in Europe.
