Dr. Slavin is a professor and head of section of Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery in the Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Illinois at Chicago. Clinical and research interests include use of neuromodulation for treatment of chronic pain, movement disorders, epilepsy and psychiatric conditions, as well as various aspects of surgical treatment of facial pain, cancer pain, Chiari malformation, etc. Currently, Dr. Slavin is the past president of the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery and Vice-President of the World Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery. After serving at the INS Board since 2011 (as Director-at-Large and Secretary), he is the next President-Elect of the International Neuromodulation Society.
