Dr. Robert Chen received MA and medical degrees (MBBChir) from the University of Cambridge and M.Sc. from the University of Toronto. He undertook Neurology residency at the University of Western Ontario, and fellowship at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke at the National Institutes of Health, USA. He is currently Professor of Medicine (Neurology) at the University of Toronto, the Catherine Manson Chair in Movement Disorders, Senior Scientist at the Krembil Brain Institute, the and the Editor-in-Chief of the Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences. His clinical interest is in movement disorders, particularly in dystonia. His research interests are human motor physiology and understanding the pathophysiology and development of new treatments for movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease and dystonia. He has authored over 340 peer-reviewed research papers and two books. He has given over 200 invited lectures and directly supervised over 60 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
