National Cervical Cancer Coalition
After different types of treatments for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection for many years, Shaundra Hall was diagnosed with invasive squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix at the age of 28. Today, she is a 20+year cervical cancer survivor, whose cancer experience propelled her into the world of gynecologic oncology support and advocacy. Shaundra attended the first annual National Cervical Cancer Coalition (NCCC) conference in 2007 became Arizona Chapter Leader in 2008 then Southwest Regional Director of the organization in 2010. In the fall of 2011, the NCCC merged under the umbrella of the American Sexual Health Association (ASHA) to which Ms. Hall was appointed Chairman of the NCCC-ASHA steering committee in 2015. Ms. Hall’s role with the steering committee is to continue the focus of NCCC’s mission which is to serve women with, or at risk for, cervical cancer and related HPV disease specifically. In addition to collaborating with other non-profit organizations in the cancer prevention and education space, Ms. Hall served as a member of the CIRB for the NIH as a patient advocate on the Cancer Prevention and Control Board from 2018-2021. In 2020 she became part of the Gynecologic Cancers Steering Committee along with the Patient Advocate Steering Committee subcommittee, all in an effort to bring the patient voice and perspective for the cervical cancer community at the national level. In 1999 Shaundra received treatment with Arizona Oncology Associates and after pursuing a career in clinical research administration, 20+ years post treatment she is now employed as the Supervisor for Research Regulatory Affairs for Arizona Oncology Associates for the Phoenix and Northern Arizona regions. Ms. Hall’s current focus is participating in clinical trial design and promoting trial options for gynecologic cancer patients. In her spare time, Shaundra and her husband Tom, enjoy spending time in Williams, AZ, a sleepy little mountain town on historic Route 66 in northern Arizona and exploring the Northern Arizona national forests near the Grand Canyon.
