Dr. Martin Volz is an orthopaedic and trauma surgeon specializing in sports medicine at Sportklinik Ravensburg. His main focus is regenerative and minimally invasive treatment of knee and shoulder injuries to tendons; ligaments; meniscus and cartilage; performing more than 1000 surgeries a year in this speciality. Dr. Volz graduated from the University of Ulm and began his clinical training at the Department of Orthopaedics at Klinik Albstadt and the University of Ulm. He completed his residency with a fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh and several hospitations at Harvard University; Lousiana State University and University of Zurich. After 12 years in private practice at the Heilig-Geist-Spital in Ravensburg; he founded the Sportklinik Ravensburg with Dr. Frick in 2010. In cooperation with his colleagues; Dr. Volz optimized the arthroscopic bone needle technique; for a safe and cost-effective transosseous rotator cuff repair. He is member of the German-Speaking Society for Arthroscopy and Joint Surgery (AGA) and serving as team physician for the Towerstars Ravensburg (ice hockey) and FV Ravensburg (soccer).
