Tropical Medicine and Parasitology
I graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine (M.D.) in 1976. I obtained Ph.D. degree in Medical Parasitology in 1984. I served as a faculty member of Seoul National University College of Medicine from 1976 to 2016. Now I am Prof. Emeritus of the same university. My major research area is medical parasitology, in particular, foodborne helminthiasis, malaria, and intestinal parasites. I am currently serving as the president of the World Federation of Parasitologists (WFP) from 2018 until this year.
