Gillian Colville (United Kingdom)

Gillian Colville is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, who qualified in 1986 at the Institute of Psychiatry in London. She worked at Westminster Children's Hospital and Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital before moving to St George's Hospital in South London in 1995, where she is currently Head of the Paediatric Psychology Service and an Honorary Research Fellow at St George's University, London. Her main research interest is the psychological impact of a child’s admission to PICU on children, their families and on the staff caring for them. She has completed projects investigating children’s me of PICU (funded by the Health Foundation) and evaluating the impact of a PICU follow up clinic on parental distress at two different centres. More recently she has published on the prevalence of post-traumatic stress, burnout ant moral distress in staff working in ICU settings and on the associations between stress, resilience and coping strategies in this group.
