Affiliated with The Hebrew University of Jerusalem Medical School, Israel. I gained my medical education at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev Medical School in Israel after which I began a comprehensive training in Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care and Pediatric Cardiology. For the last 12 years I am involved with the main two pediatric cardiac intensive care and ECMO services in the country as a senior consultant. Initially at the Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel, where I had also served as the Chief Instructor at the Israeli PALS national training center and then at the Safra Children's Hospital in Tel Hashomer where the national ECMO school is located. During my time at Safra Children's Hospital, I have instructed hundreds of trainees within the ECMO school (intensivists, perfusionists, cardiac surgeons, nurses, etc.). I was also the head of the pediatric sedation service. Since December 2018 I am the director of the pediatric cardiac intensive care and extracorporeal life support program at the Hadassah University Medical Center. My academic position is from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem Medical School. My main research interests are tissue damage in pediatric patients after cardiac surgery or ECMO support with special interest in ischemic reperfusion injury, neurodevelopmental outcomes in pediatric patients after ECMO support and anticoagulation strategies in pediatric ECMO. In addition to ESPNIC, I am an active member of the Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Society (PCICS) where I serve as a member of the education, program and international committees; ELSO, and faculty for Euro ELSO 2019. While the subspecialty of PCIC is rapidly developing, as the deputy chair of our section, along with the chair, I will focus on extending the involvement of the members in research collaboration, designing guidelines and protocols, connections with the community and implementation of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies into our daily practice.
