I am a Military Doctor (currently holding the rank of Captain) and Ι am going through the third year of my residency in Pediatrics, in the 3rd Department of Pediatrics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. Prior to my residency, I was a Medical Officer in a Military Unit of the Greek Army, serving as a Medical Company Commander, along with my duties as a medical doctor. During this time, I had been voluntarily offering my medical services, in the local communities of the 4th Army Corps territory (Thrace, Greece), for which I have earned a “special acknowledgement of voluntary offer” award. Since my Medical School years, I have developed a special interest in infectious diseases, particularly, in rare fungal infections in immunocompromised hosts and in antimicrobial agents and chemotherapy of infectious diseases. I am currently attending the MSc/Postgraduate programme "Research Methodology in Biomedicine, Biostatistics and Clinical Bioinformatics" (University of Thessaly, Greece). I am also a sub-investigator in a multicenter randomized controlled trial, in which my Department participates. I am an APLS, NLS, ALS and ATLS provider. Since 2019, I have delivered 22 oral and poster presentations in Greek, European and World Medical Conferences, 13 of which concerned pediatric infectious diseases.
