Prof. Anna Papa-Konidari, MD, Ph.D. is the Head of the Department of Microbiology in the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. She is leading the National Reference Centres for Arboviruses, for Influenza for Northern Greece, and for COVID-19. She is: • President of International Society on Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever, • President of the Hellenic Society of Virology, • Member of the Executive Board of European Society of Virology • Member of the Executive Board of European Society of Clinical Virology • Member of the Management Team of EVD-LabNet (European expert laboratory network for emerging viral diseases) supported by ECDC. She is: • Coordinator of many national projects • Partner in several EU projects (currently SHARP and VEO). • Reviewer in many scientific journals. • Invited speaker in many national and international congresses; she received the “Gardner Lectureship Award 2018” from the European Society for Clinical Virology. She has published 310 scientific articles included in PubMed with h-index 46 and 8600 citations.

Nikolaos (Nikos) Papadopoulos is a world leading expert in allergy and asthma, focusing on the role of infection and its interaction with atopy, as keystone events of allergy pathophysiology as well as targets for treatment. During his career, he has identified some of the key mechanisms leading from common viral exposures to asthma exacerbations and persistence. He is Professor of Allergy & Pediatric Allergy at the University of Athens; also Honorary Professor at the University of Manchester and at OPRI, Singapore. He has supervised >20 PhDs, organized >100 educational events and is invited speaker >30 times a year. He has participated and led high-impact EU research projects from FP5 to Horizon Europe and has actively served many international societies, notably EAACI (President 2013-15, during which he worked towards the creation of the EU Parliament Interest Group on Allergy & Asthma) and REG (President 2018-20). He has received several international awards, has published >500 papers (>45000 citations, h-index:96, Google Scholar). He is Editor-in-Chief of Frontiers in Allergy and Associate Editor of Clinical & Translational Allergy. He is the leader of PeARL (Pediatric Asthma in Real-Life), a think tank aiming to optimise pediatric asthma management.
Professor Vana Papaevangelou is a trained paediatrician, with a special interest in paediatric infectious diseases. After completing her paediatric residency and PID fellowship at the NYU Medical Centre, USA, she returned to Athens Greece and has been a full-time clinical paediatrician in tertiary teaching hospitals since 1996. Professor Papaevangelou has been actively involved in the education of medical students and paediatric residents. Since September 2013 she has been appointed Chairman of the Third department of Pediatrics of her University which is located at ATTIKON hospital, a tertiary University Hospital. Over the past 25 years, Professor Papaevangelou has been actively involved in multiple research projects. Her main interests involve the epidemiology of vaccine-preventable diseases and vertical transmission of infections. She is a member of the National committee for COVID-19 response, the National Advisory Board for Immunization Practices, the scientific committee of the Greek CDC, the National Hepatitis Board and the Viral Hepatitis Prevention Board. She is a Board member of ESPID since May 2019. Prof V Papaevangelou has published more than 150 papers in peer reviewed journals, with an H-Index: 33 and more than 3400 citations.
