Neonatology
Nadja Haiden, MD, is a Pediatrician specialized in Neonatology and Pediatric Intensive Care medicine. She is the Head of the Department of Neonatology at the Kepler Universityhospital Linz/Austria, was educated at the Medical University of Vienna and worked as Consultant Neonatal Pediatrician for almost 21 years. Actually, she helps lead a broad portfolio of research based at the MUV and the Kepler Universityhospital Linz. Professor Haiden coordinates the PIES and PREWEAN projects that track the growth and metabolic outcomes of preterm infants after introduction of complementary feeding. Current trials which are also conducted with the Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg include exploring the impact of human milk Micro- RNA and Exsosomes on reparative processes. Further major research interest relates to parenteral and enteral nutrition and human milk. Nadja Haiden has earned grants from Austrian FWF, the Austrian National Bank and the BĂĽrgermeisterfonds of the City of Vienna. Furthermore, she is a faculty member of the Medical University of Vienna, head of the national committee of pediatric nutrition of the Austrian Pediatric Society, head of the national neonatal nutrition committee of the federal ministry of health and an elected member for the ESPGHAN (European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition) nutrition committee. She has published more than 70 peer reviewed articles and her H-Index is 25 (Google scholar).
