Schneider Children's Medical Center
Pediatric Gastroenterologist
Noam Zevit, MD, is head of the Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Clinic at the Institute of Gastroenterology, Nutrition, and Liver Diseases at Schneider Children’s Medical Center of Israel in Petah Tikva. He studied medicine at the Hadassah Medical School at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and completed his pediatric residency and a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology at Schneider Children’s Medical Center. During the past decade, Dr Zevit’s main research focus has been eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) and eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders (EGIDs). He is a member of the EGID Working Group at the European Society of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition (ESPGHAN) and served as the working group’s secretary of research from its founding until 2022. Together with Prof Jorge Amil Dias, he established the European Pediatric Eosinophilic Esophagitis Registry (pEEr) of ESPGHAN, which now includes over 1100 patients followed longitudinally. He has coordinated studies that helped differentiate the inflammatory vs fibrotic nature of pediatric EoE-associated strictures and the natural history of asymptomatic esophageal eosinophilia in patients with celiac disease. He has participated in numerous international collaborative studies, including the AGREE initiative, the COREOS consensus, and, more recently, serving as a histology group team lead in the upcoming ESPGHAN/NASPGHAN pediatric EGID guideline.
