Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU)
Pediatrics and Developmental Biology
After graduating from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU) Graduate School, I did a postdoctoral fellowship at Boston Children's Hospital, where I was engaged in research on signal transduction in B cells and monocytes. I have been engaged in research on the molecular pathogenesis of IEI by employing Multi-Omics approach, using model cell lines (iPSC), and model mice. Our team at TMDU aims to eventually elucidate the pathogenesis of more complex immune disorders. The molecules I am currently interested in, and studying are IKZF family proteins and OAS family proteins. Our department at TMDU is the largest IEI Research and Clinical Center in Japan and works closely with Department of Transcriptional Regulation at RIKEN Center for Integrative Medical Research. I currently serve as an Executive Vice President of TMDU and Professor at Department of Pediatrics of TMDU. I also serve as the chief investigator of the Primary Immunodeficiency Research Group of the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the President of the Japanese Society for Immunodeficiency and Autoinflammation (JSIAD), Vice President of the Japanese Society for Clinical Immunology,
