University of Florence/Anna Meyer Children's Hospital Department of NEUROFARBA/Haematology-Oncology Department
Professor Gambineri’s background and strong research interest has always been revolved around primary immunodeficiency (PID), with particular focus on immune dysregulation disorders. She did part of her training abroad in preeminent centers (USA and UK) and she was involved in studying both clinical and molecular aspects of PID as well as treatment options (i.e. BMT). She worked in Seattle and in Newcastle upon Tyne under the supervision of preeminent clinical scientists in the field of Primary Immunodeficiency and inherited complex autoimmune diseases, Prof. Hans D. Ochs and Prof. Andrew Cant. This has opened up enormous possibilities for fruitful collaborative research also enhanced by the longstanding involvement of Prof. Gambineri in the activities of the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID) since 2006. Lately, her research interests have focused in unrevealing immune dysfunction behind haematological disorders.
