Göran Hajak is Professor of Psychiatry at the University of Regensburg, Germany. Professor Hajak also holds clinical and administrative positions as Director of the Department of Psychiatry, Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy, and as Deputy Medical Director of the Social Foundation Bamberg. Professor Hajak´s widespread scientific interests are reflected in his authorship and co-authorship of approximately 1400 publications, including 387 peer-reviewed original papers and 210 review articles, 131 book chapters, 22 books and more than 800 abstracts covering the areas of affective, emotional, psychotic, somatoform, cognitive and sleep disorders, the mechanisms of neuroplasticity and brain networking, psychopharmacology, and health management. His current scientific focus is on clinical studies, and the development of innovative treatment methods and strategies for psychiatric disorders. Professor Hajak´s work has qualified him to be named in the Who-is-Who-List of Medicine Germany and the Focus TOP-100-Best-List of Medical Doctors in Germany as a distinguished physician for the treatment of depression, bipolar disorders, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders and sleep disorders.
