Dr Karla Toye is a Clinical Psychologist currently working at the Manchester and Salford Pain Centre, UK. Having completed her Clinical Psychology Doctorate at Manchester University in 2001, Karla took up a post at the Manchester and Salford Pain Centre, where she has worked ever since. She is currently the lead psychologist for the neuromodulation part of the service and her interests include the interface between neuromodulation and chronic pain rehabilitation. She is currently a member of the Psychologists In PaIn Neuromodulation (PIPIN) group who are a network of clinical psychologists working in UK neuromodulation services. The group meets regularly to discuss developments in the field of neuromodulation, psychological aspects of surgical care and to share good practice. As part of the group, Karla has contributed to the recently developed ‘Good Practice Guidelines for Psychological Assessment and Intervention for Neuromodulation Services’ which is currently in process.
