Roopa Mehta (Mexico)

Roopa Mehta is an endocrinologist. She completed her medical training in the UK in 1996 at the United Medical and Dental Schools of Guys and St Thomas’s Hospitals, London. She obtained MRCP in 2000. She trained as an endocrinologist at the Instituto Nacional de Ciencias Médicas y Nutrición, Salvador Zubirán (INCMNSZ). On completing the residency programme, she subsequently subspecialized in diabetes and metabolism. Currently, she works at the INCMNSZ and has a permanent position as an endocrinologist and investigator (SNI level 1). Her postgraduate studies include a master’s degree in medical science. She is a professor in both pre- and postgraduate endocrinology programmes. She is an investigator for both Phase II and III clinical trials. She has authored multiple publications in both national and international medical journals. Her research interests include T2D, dyslipidaemia and metabolic syndrome. She is a member of the Endocrine Society and the Mexican Society of Nutrition and Endocrinology (SMNE).
