My name is Cristina-Gabriela MITINCU, I have a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science at the Faculty of Geography, University of Bucharest and am currently studying Doctoral Degree in Regional Geography at the same institution. Over time, I was involved in a series of scientific activities and research projects in close contact with the urban planning and sustainabile development areas. Perseverance, the enhanced interest for the topics addressed, the spirit of knowledge and innovation, together with a good ability to adapt, are some of my key qualities. Until now, the deliverables of my PhD thesis were two papers. one published in Land Use Policy Journal (Impact factor 5.398): “Licensing sustainability related aspects in Strategic Environmental Assessment. Evidence from Romania’s urban areas” and one in Journal of Environmental Management (Impact factor 6.789): “An evaluation of environmental plans quality: Addressing the rational and communicative perspectives” and 26 presentations at international and national conferences (including EEEN 2020 - Environmental Evaluation Supporting the Implementation of SDGs and Transformative Policymaking, IALE - European Landscape Ecology Congress 2019, AESOP Annual Congress: Making Space from Hope 2018). Apart from my studies, I have experience in civic education and urban ecology as a volunteer in the Komunitas Association’s project ”Urban spaces in action” and in cartography and statistics as a volunteer in the Greenpeace's campaign to protect the forests of Romania, where I had the chance not just to apply what I had learnt during my studies, but also to achieve more knowledge in urban planning and sustainablity, respectively in ArcGIS and R programming.

After graduating in Physical Geography from the University of Utrecht, Arnoud started his career with several ambitious trainee posts and jobs abroad. As deputy head of the Rotterdam Water Management Department, he was responsible for it’s urban water management and the Waterplan2Rotterdam. In 2008, he was appointed Manager of the Rotterdam Climate Proof program and led the city towards a leading position on innovative urban water management and climate resilience. Which resulted in a Rotterdam C40 Innovation Award, the selection for 100 Resilient Cities by the Rockefeller Foundation and the EU-Icapital award. Arnoud is first editor of book “Resilient Cities and Climate Adaptation Strategies” (2014). He also joined the Steering Committee of the international conference “Deltas in times of Climate Change 2014”. In 2014 Arnoud was appointed as Rotterdam’s Chief Resilience Officer. He was responsible for Rotterdam’s first Resilience Strategy (2016), became member of the advisory board of the 4TU Centre for Resilient Engineering. In 2017 Arnoud successfully managed the Rotterdam bid to become host city for the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA). In 2019 he hosted the Global Urban Resilience Summit in Rotterdam and joined the Global Steering Committee at the Resilient Cities Network. In 2020 he became (part time) Lead Cities at the GCA.

Passionate scientist dedicated to the study of urban processes, Esteban Munoz develops urban models for the representation of urban dynamics mainly in python and R. Mr. Munoz studied architecture and urban planning from at the University of Applied Sciences Karlsruhe (HsKA). After his studies, he worked for a year at the European Institute for Energy Research (EIFER) in Karlsruhe. In 2009 Mr Munoz started his masters at the HafenCity University in Hamburg (HCU), the international program: Resource Efficiency in Architecture and Planing (REAP). It allowed him to jump into the topic of urban modeling. During his PhD thesis and working as a research fellow for the HafenCity University, he focuded on the development of spatial microsimulation models. Mr Munoz worked as a consultant for the International Financial Corporation (IFC) and he's currently working as a consultant for UN Environment.
