Dr. Chrysoula Boutari, MSc, Ph.D., MD, graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH), Greece in 2011. She obtained her Ph.D. with Honors from the same University in 2017. Her Ph.D. was based on the effect of rosuvastatin on patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. She is a specialist in Internal Medicine and a Registrar at the Ippokratio University Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. Dr. Boutari was an Honorary Clinical Research Fellow at the Department of Endocrinology, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Boston, USA, participating in the department's clinical and research activities, funded by grants from the World Hellenic Biomedical Association and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation for Charity. Dr. Boutari’s clinical and research interests involve cardiometabolic diseases, including dyslipidemia, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, obesity, and diabetes prevention and treatment, about which she has been invited to give many lectures in Greek and European congresses. She is currently a postdoctoral researcher at AUTH and a member of the Young Fellows of the European Atherosclerosis Society Programme. She is also a member of the Executive Board of the Hellenic Atherosclerosis Society (HAS).
