Wendy Garrett is the Irene Heinz Given Professor of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at Harvard and a medical oncologist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Garrett co-founded and co-directs the Harvard Chan Microbiome in Public Health Center and her lab’s research focuses on the interplay between the gastrointestinal immune system and the gut microbiota in health, inflammatory bowel diseases, colorectal cancer, and chronic kidney disease. Her laboratory has identified both specific species, pathways, and metabolites produced by the microbiota that influence health and disease states.
