Point of care ultrasound (POCUS) provides in providing anatomical, physiological and hemodynamic information in real time which can help in making physiologu based clinical decisions. It can help in making timely and accurate diagnosis, and provide specific targeted intervention. POCUS is rapidly being adopted in the neonatal and paediatric intensive care practice. Evidence-based guidelines for the use of POCUS in critically ill neonates and children endorsed by the ESPNIC have been published.
