Maria Infantino, MD, graduated from the University of Rome Campus Bio Medico (Italy) in 2001. She was trained in Laboratory of Autoimmune Diseases at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and became specialist in Clinical Biochemistry at the same University in 2005, and obtained the Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2009. Currently she works at the Laboratory of Immunology and Allergy at San Giovanni di Dio Hospital (Florence, Italy). Her main fields of research interest include the diagnostics of autoimmune diseases, and the novel biomarkers of early diagnosis and of response to biological therapies in inflammatory arthritis. Dr. Infantino is a member of the International Consensus on Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) Patterns (ICAP) coordinated by L.E.C. Andrade and E.K.L. Chan. She is member of the Italian Society of Laboratory Working Group on Autoimmune Diseases and member of the Italian Society of Medicine of Laboratory (SIPMeL) and member of the Italian Interdisciplinary Forum for the Research in Autoimmune Diseases (FIRMA). She has authored or co-authored more than 100 proceedings or abstracts and he participated to many national and international Conferences as a speaker. She is author/coauthor of over 100 publications on international journals indexed by PubMed.
