Stanley Naides, MD, FACP, FACR ws recently appointed the Director of Scientific Affairs, Euroimmun US, a PerkinElmer company. Dr. Naides oversees scientific communications, publications and research for EUROIMMUN US and is based at the US headquarters in Mountain Lakes, NJ. Dr. Naides was most recently at Quest Diagnostics Nichols Institute as Medical Director, Immunology R&D. Dr. Naides is a board certified internist with subspecialty certification in Rheumatology. He received his Bachelor's degree from Princeton University in Biochemistry and attended the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He received his M.D. from Hahnemann University. He trained in Internal Medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital and at Temple University. Dr. Naides completed fellowships in rheumatology at the University of California, San Diego and in immunology research at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Naides joined the Division of Rheumatology, University of Iowa where he became a tenured Associate Professor and was the founding Director of the interdisciplinary Helen C. Levitt Center for Viral Pathogenesis and Disease. Dr. Naides subsequently was Professor of Medicine, Microbiology & Immunology, and Pharmacology at Pennsylvania State University/Milton S. Hershey Medical Center where he held the Hallowell Endowed Chair, was Chief of Rheumatology, and Co-Director of the Immunobiology Graduate Program. His extramurally supported basic and translational research focused on viral pathogenesis and autoimmunity. He has served on NIH and foundation grant review study sections, and continues to serve on national professional society committees. Dr. Naides is the author/editor of more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, book chapters, books, and reviews.
