Tanja is Director General of External Affairs at Medtech Europe. She is responsible for the organisation’s Communications and Government Affairs and Public Policy work, and forms part of the Executive Leadership Team. With regards to diabetes, Tanja leads MedTech Europe’s engagement in this important area. MedTech Europe has a senior-level Diabetes Working Group, which brings together 9 leading companies active in diabetes and committed to advancing diabetes management for the benefit of people living with this chronic condition. Tanja has been involved in various EU policies relevant to the medical technology sector, amongst them the revision of the EU regulations for medical devices and in vitro diagnostics, the EU regulation on Health Technology Assessment, as well as EU initiatives on digital, innovation and environment. With her team, she leads MedTech Europe’s engagement and cooperation with the stakeholder community in Brussels based on the overarching spirit of being a constructive partner in addressing the present healthcare demands that Europe is facing. Before joining MedTech Europe, Tanja was working with the European Parliament. She is an economist by training and speaks German, English and French. She lives with her husband and daughter in Brussels, Belgium.
