Astrid Karnøe Knudsen is Head of Data Science in Hedia ApS. She holds a PhD in Digital Health from University of Copenhagen, Denmark. With more than 10 years experience working with health informatics, she is specialised in patient-oriented digital health and in translating real-world data into product features and evidence. Together with the rest of Hedia, Astrid works to develop personalised digital therapeutics for people with insulin-requiring diabetes. Hedia Diabetes Assistant is a class IIb medical device that provides users with bolus calculations via a modified algorithm that allows for physical activity to be included in the calculation. The next generation of Hedia Diabetes Assistant combines current product features with AI-based methods to deliver adaptive and actionable glucose forecasts that aim to support proactive self-management behaviour.
