Yoshiya Kikawa is President of Life Care Solutions Division at Terumo Corporation. He joined Terumo Corporation in 1986 and has successfully contributed to the R&D division, corporate strategic planning department, pain relief business department and Terumo’s Diabetes and Healthcare Group . Driven by his mission to alleviate pain, he used his experience to successfully provide multimodal pain relief devices to patients, to help to improve their quality of life. In the diabetes business, too, his commitment is for the patients’ benefit. His goal is to improve the QoL for as many patients as possible by providing Terumo’s valued products and services, such as MEDISAFE WITH detachable patch pump presented at this symposium.

Session Description:

Terumo is a medical device company offering diverse medical devices and services in more than 160 regions and countries for over 100 years. Terumo started diabetes business in 1982 and has continuously developed and launched various blood glucose meters and needles for pen injectors. In 2018, we launched a CGM and an insulin patch pump in Japanese market to meet the various needs of patients and health care professionals. Furthermore, we launched our insulin patch pump in European market in 2021.

In this symposium, we will present our detachable insulin patch pump “MEDISAFE WITH”. Five presenters will speak about the following topics:

 Clinical experience of MEDISAFE WITH in Japan

 Clinical experience of MEDISAFE WITH in Italy with two different patient segments

 Accuracy evaluation of patch pump

 Current AID system and future expectations for integration with patch pump
