Dr Hood Thabit trained as a doctor at University College Dublin and graduated in 2002. He completed his specialist training in diabetes, endocrinology and internal medicine in 2012. He received his Doctorate in Medicine (MD) while working as a research fellow at Trinity College Dublin, and his PhD from the University of Cambridge based on his research on closed-loop/artificial pancreas devices. He has a strong academic/clinical interest in insulin pumps, CGMS and artificial pancreas technology. His work is widely published, including in the New England Journal of Medicine and Lancet Diabetes. He has presented and taught at various international conferences.
