Dr. Simonson earned his doctorate in molecular cell biology and biochemistry at the University of Minnesota. He was awarded a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Children’s Diabetes Center for his research on diabetes gene therapy. Dr. Simonson currently oversees diabetes quality improvement projects, training and publishing. His research interests include translation of research and technology into evidence-based practice through creation of algorithms, practice guidelines, diabetes education resources and the ambulatory glucose profile (AGP).
