Prof. Dario Pitocco, MD, is Medical Director of Diabetes Care Unit of Foundation University Hospital Agostino Gemelli and Associate Professor of Endocrinology of the Catholic University in Rome. Prof Pitocco is a diabetologist member of the managing board of the diabetes technology working group of the Italian Diabetes Society (SID) and-Member of the Board of the Lazio Section of the Italian Society of Diabetes. He was principle investigator for different studies cooperating with several industrial and non-industrial partners. Prof. Pitocco supports publication of all study results and is author of 170 scientific papers and more than 250 communications in national and international congress about treatment of diabetes and its complications (diabetic neuropathy, diabetic foot) including use of technology (insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring) and in particular the effects of glycaemic variability investigated through the utilization of CGM on diabetes management. He was winner of the Marvin Levin Award as the BEST SCIENTIFIC CONTRIBUTION in the 68th edition of the congress of the American Diabetes Association (ADA) 2008 and appointed as a maximum expert by American Diabetes Association (ADA) and American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) to draft a "consensus on etiology, diagnosis and treatment of osteoarthropathy of charcot".
