Pierre has been working on medical device innovation for over 20 years, interweaving engineering expertise with regulatory approvals and clinical research know-how across all product development stages. Highlights of his career include: FloWatch-PAB, the first implantable device offering wireless remotely adjustable Pulmonary Artery Banding for infants with congenital heart disease, EndoArt’s EasyBand, the first remotely adjustable gastric banding device for adaptive treatment of morbid obesity, and the development at EMS Dental of AirFlow Prophylaxis Master dentistry devices for greater patient comfort and better user convenience and reliability. Since 2018, he has been working on breakthrough innovations in pump technology miniaturization and user experience-oriented product design at AMF Medical. He holds a master’s degree in Physics and a PhD in Biomechanics from EPFL, which received the 2000 European Society of Biomechanics Student Award. He is first or co-author of over 35 scientific publications and 2 book chapters and has more than 16 patents to his name. Pierre lives with his family near Lausanne (Switzerland) and in his spare time enjoys competing in ultra-endurance sports in the Swiss mountains.
