Claire is a Chartered Psychologist (Brtish Psychological Society) and Research Fellow within the School of Health Sciences, Faculty of Environmental & Life Sciences and the School of Primary Care, Population Health & Medical Education (PPM), Faculty of Medicine at the University of Southampton. Her research focuses on Implementation Science and Health Psychology, especially in terms of understanding and supporting self-management strategies, and the role of social networks and social support in relation to living with diabetes, especially in terms of integrating new health technologies. This work is largely in terms of intervention development in collaboration with people living with diabetes, and testing the value, impact and feasibility of developed interventions. Claire is particularly interested in the development and implementation of interventions to support sustainable behaviour change and/or self-management and any initiative which considers the person as a whole and the context in which they live rather than simply a biomedical approach to health.
