Dr. Carmen Logie is the Canada Research Chair in Global Health Equity & Social Justice with Marginalized Populations, an Associate Professor at the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work, University of Toronto, an Adjunct Scientist at Women's College Hospital, and Ontario Ministry of Research & Innovation Early Researcher. She has been awarded funding from Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Social Sciences & Humanities Research Council of Canada, Grand Challenges Canada, and Canada Foundation for Innovation, to lead global research focused on sexual health and rights. She is particularly interested in understanding and addressing intersectional stigma and its health impacts. Her current research projects include a focus on: HIV/STI prevention in Canada with Northern and Indigenous youth; HIV prevention and testing with refugee and displaced youth in Uganda; sexual rights social movement building in Brazil; and HIV care with gay, bisexual and other men living with HIV in Jamaica
