This session will address the state of science on the relationship between HIV and the opioid epidemic in a global context. It will provide evidence of effective interventions to address HIV and opioid epidemics in Central Asia and Eastern Europe and implications for other regions. In addition, it will focus on the role of harm reduction interventions in reducing HIV and opioid use disorders.
